To optimize my healthspan, I walk to accumulate about 60,000 steps a week which regularly takes me on walks downhill to the beach. Using the stairs west of the Montage Hotel and Resort, I reach the sand and barefoot it the rest of the way, about 4-5 miles round trip. From time to time, I'm asked to take a photo of a group and in the process I've learned that there are a number of international travelers walking our beach from: Latvia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Bulgaria, Turkey. I wonder if Laguna Beach or the Montage Hotels are advertising in travel magazines in various countries.
I often ask those I meet to recommend their favorite home destinations for me to add to my LIFE LIST which makes for many very interesting conversations. There is a Japanese TV series: Why Are You Here? A film crew and hosts meet travelers at Narita International Airport in Tokyo broadcasts videos of incoming travelers.
We don't yet have public transportation (lower carbon footprint) to LAX from Laguna Beach, but it might be interesting to talk to people on the beach
